The Rain

If you live in Austin you know exactly what I'm talking about. The never-ending, unceasing rain. One month ago yesterday Otis and I left for our Pacific NW vacation. The night before we left we got 19" of rain (subsequently delaying our flight). Even then it had been raining for a month. Here we are one month later and still - The Rain. I've tried to form sentences around how The Rain is making me feel, but all I come up with are short little clips of thoughts; images in my head.

Everything wet all the time. Mud. Wet grass. A dog who refuses to go outside to do her business. Looking out the window. Drips in my cube. I forget what a sunny day feels like. The soaking wet hem of my jeans.

What comes to your mind?

Dave.:

The cooler air as I work on my car!

Heather:

Unmanageable frizzy hair. Soggy sandals, because it's too hot to wear my galoshes...
