I heart Austin

Otis and I are recently back from a day trip to Houston...Katy, to be more exact. We drove down so I could attend a baby shower for my friend, Natalie. It was great to see her, and her adorable baby bump :) I can't wait to see pictures of the baby when she comes.

Katy is my hometown, where I have spent more of my life than anywhere else. And while it was great to see people I haven't seen in years, it was even greater to come back to Austin. Austin is my home now, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love it here...the smaller city, less traffic, and most of all the natural beauty Austin has to offer. The first thing we did when we got back was take Abi to a nearby park, and it was amazing how restoring and rejuvenating that short walk in the park was for me. It confirmed for me that I can not and will not ever live anywhere that doesn't offer me the opportunity to enjoy nature. I need it as much as I need food or water...that's how much life it brings to me. And while that may sound extreme to some, I've come to realize it's an essential part of who I am.
